Hello, welcome back to “MISUNG MONDAYS”!

This week i’m posting a song from the good ol’ 2004 from the album “Department Store” with the song “Department Store”.

It’s about being trapped in a “Department Store”. I wrote it after i had a lovely day waiting around in a TJ Maxx.

In light of what happened to one of the best girl singers of the past decade, i’ve decided to take a break from my “girl song” songs. So , here’s an unreleased track from the “Too Hard to Paddle Through” recording session entitled.. “Bleed out the Head”.

HEY, BACK AGAIN WITH MISUNG MONDAY AND MORE SONGS SUNG BY ME THAT GIRL’S WROTE.

THIS WEEK, THE LOVELY LADY, KAREN O (and Daniel Johnston) FROM THE “WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK“.

THE SONG(S) “HEADS UP/WORRIED SHOES MEDLEY“.

FOR THIS TRACK, I TRIED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE ELECTRIC AND STICK TO THE ACOUSTIC GUITAR, KEYBOARDS AND HAND CLAPS TO

GIVE IT A MORE RAW FEEL. The first song “Heads Up” ran at a mere 2 minutes and 30 seconds so i thought meshing it with “worried shoes”

(which is a great song by the fabulous artist “Daniel Johnston” -that Karen O  covered in the movie), would fit right in at the end. I added a lot of vocal tracks, some horns, alien ambient noises,  and lots of other stuff to make this a fun track to listen to. Hope you like it as much as i had making it for you. Tonight! At Cakeshop! The band I play bass in, Moonmen on the Moon, man are releasing our E.P.! It has 8 songs and is awesome. Come out to the show. Although technically on Cape Shok records, Ottomen records will be selling it online and helping with distribution. Look for more upcoming Moonmen on the Moon, Man shows including an appearance at SXSW on March 10th!! – Jim

This song is called AUGUST NEEDS! I wrote it back in 2004 while living by myself in Osaka.

The bass part was originally written as an example for a bass lesson I was teaching.  It then turned into a song!
